Now that the front section of the rear quarter panels are taking shape, I jumped into splitting up the rockers. will continue fiberglass work and widening the quarter panels at a later date.

More work, lots of pictures showing on how I did my split rockers. There are several different ways of doing this. I was looking for something that was structurally sound. I also didnt want to completely cut and rebuild the lower section of the car.

taking a break from the bodywork and building the dash and center console.

So I cant do all the work on the outside and leave the stock Fiero dash, Its just not gonna work for me. I wanted to build a better dash and center console that more resembled the Testarossa style. I used the base dash and built off that. I cut the original side AC vents off and built the wood frame off the factory base of the dash. This allowed me to use all the original AC ducting, Wiring, and gauges. I framed it out in wood, then used 1/4 finish grade plywood to surface it. in all reality its still a replica car, and I want to be able to replace parts with ease after it is built.

I had a friend of mine that does custom interiors hook me up on the dash, seats and door panels. I wanted to do Daytona style seats. This is extremely difficult and really shows the skill of the interior guy. My friend did amazing. I am really happy with the outcome. I am building to suit my style. I have always loved the daytona style Ferrari interiors.

Continuing on the interior, I built a new style center console that flows into the dash.

With the interior complete it will be installed once the car is complete. Now I am moving on to the Fiero windshield. I will be installing a 1998 Chrysler sebring windshield. I did a lot of reasearch and this is the most readily available option. It was a little over a hundred bucks and will require extensive modification. The top opening had to be trimmed to fit but it was really close. The bottom is a whole different story. The bottom windshield frame was extended 8 inches. This means relocating the wipers building a new wiper arm system, new mounts and a dash extension tray. I have all the photos loaded in a file. I will put some here but theres no way to post them all here. if you would like em I can send you a usb or load them on the cloud. I also will be cutting the opening of the hood where it meets the windshield to accept the extended windshield
Lets go!!
